Spotlight on the Investment and Opportunities in Indonesian Urban Rail

Developing Urban Railways in South East Asia’s Largest Economy

Indonesia recently announced over USD100 billion of transport infrastructure projects to better connect the country potentially opening the doors for overseas investments. The biggest fraction of this goes into railway infrastructure, specifically on urban rail development—connecting the major cities and economic districts of the country. As south-east Asia's largest economy and home to the world's fourth largest population, Indonesia has long been a draw for foreign investment.

Indonesia is ready to offer 14 major infrastructure projects valued at $6.1 billion to the private sector next year, as part of an effort to boost economic growth.”
Dedy Supriadi Priatna, Deputy for Infrastructure Development at the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), December 2012
